About Batoka Gorge
The zigzag chain of gorges below Victoria Falls on the Zambezi, along the Zambia and Zimbabwe border. Each gorge marks a former position of the retreating falls. Home to some of the most famous commercial whitewater rafting in the world. The Victoria Falls Bridge, opened in 1905, spans one of the gorges. A large hydroelectric dam has been proposed downstream.
