The Yarlung Tsangpo/Brahmaputra creates the deepest gorge on Earth. The river turns 180 degrees around Namcha Barwa (7,782 m). The gorge has not been fully explored. Estimated hydropower potential is the largest of any single site. The river drops 2,700 m in 300 km.
